Please go to PJGT documents to view the overall results for ages 12-19 Girls and 14-19 Boys. It's Labor Day, and the 2009-2010 PJGT season kicked off with three days of fantastic weather, great camaraderie and stiff competition.

Anina Ku (Girls 8-11) and Evan Greenplate (Boys 8-9) were first off the tee each day and lit up the course. They threw darts at pins throughout the weekend, with Anina carding rounds of 80-74-81 (25 strokes better than last year!). Evan's rounds of 80-75-78 (40 strokes better than last year!) earned him the 8-11 Weekend Medalist award. Great job, Anina and Evan!

Teddy Hoffmann (Boys 10-11 Division) finished Saturday's round with a respectable score of 83, but said that his putting wasn't as good as he had hoped. Sunday and Monday showed a return of the deadly-aimed Teddy flat-stick, as he put together rounds of 74-77, narrowly missing out on Weekend Medalist by one stroke. Well done!

The Girls 12-14 Division saw a returning veteran, two recent 8-11 players and a new face in the field. Lauren Waller played all three days with Nicole Feaster (Girls 15-19) with tons of smiles, laughs and fun - isn't that the way golf is supposed to be played? Nicole, despite recovering from injury, played all three days - impressive! Meanwhile, Jordan McKelvin showed marked improvement, not only from last year, but also each day, shaving strokes throughout the weekend and earning third. Hana Ku and Shannon Brooks battled throughout the weekend, with Hana's pair of 75s earning her first and Shannon's solid play taking second. Nice job, girls!

Question - What's between the ages of 12 and 13 and tears up golf courses? Answer - the Boys 12-13 Division. With a combined 16 sub-80 rounds, this group lit up Heritage Hills. Rookie Mike Blasey played all three rounds in the 70's and earned fifth place. Chris Navarro's rounds of 83 on Saturday and 80 on Monday flanked a 71 on Sunday that put him into a playoff for third with Bennett Wisner, who played very consistently with rounds of 77-78-79. Bennett ultimately earned third. Meanwhile, Kyle Berkshire carded a 73 on Monday to earn second. But nothing could stop Zack Taylor's 78-75-78, as he took home first. Way to go, guys!

The Boys 14-15 Division teed it up from the tips and let it fly. After day 1, Hunter McGuirk and Aaron Staley were neck and neck with rounds of 78 and 79 respectively. Aaron's recently sprained wrist got increasingly worse, and he decided to withdraw rather than risk further injury - but he still showed up on Monday to cheer on his fellow golfers. Hunter earned first, with Cody Lissner playing three solid rounds and grabbing second. Lucas Farmer and Jonah Zheng went to a chip-off for third, where, after two rounds, Jonah earned third. Congrats to all.

The Boys 16-19 Division saw three PJGT veterans earn the top three spots, with four rookies working their way around their first event. Julian Heller earned third, his best finish (so far) on tour, with Jay Sapperstein earning second, his best finish (so far) on tour. But it was Mitchell O'Shell who lit up the course with rounds of 77-71-79, grabbing first and the 12-19 Weekend Medalist award. Great job to all of you!

Thanks to everyone for a terrific weekend. See you at Queenstown!

Best regards,

Phil, Pené & Ben
