FCGA Show-Me Shootout, Crowne Pointe Golf Club
Farmington, MO, 63640
September 19-20 2009

Director: Scott

Crown Pointe Golf Club, again rated 4 stars by Golf Digest Magazine, boasts one of the most stunningly beautiful golf courses in Missouri. Nestled in the beautiful rolling hill countryside of Farmington, the course melds gently rolling terrain, a variety of water hazards, and high bluffs. Formerly Eagle Lake Golf Club, Crown Pointe was designed in 1993 by Gary Kern and is located an hour away from St. Louis. Situated on a 208 acre tract of land in Farmington, Missouri, Crown Pointe is comfortably nestled between a luxury neighborhood and scenic farmland. Crown Pointe is unique because you can take advantage of our private club style amenities and 4 star course, while enjoying the convenience of our public course status. The par 72 links-style golf course is 7,069 yards in total length and features 4 par threes, 10 par fours, and 4 par fives. The fairway and tee boxes are a bluegrass and rye blend, while the greens are planted with bent grass.

35 players teed it up in the first Missouri PJGT major of the Fall, The FCGA Show-Me Shootout.

Boys 8-9 Brennan Dolnick of St. Louis won by breaking 90 both days. With a two-day total of 175, Dolnick was able to hold off second place finisher Carson Miles of Advance, MO. Both competitors are to be commended for outstanding sportsmanship and excellent pace of play.

Boys10-11 Two outstanding players competed in this division. Jake Ecklund of Carterville, IL jumped out to a great start by shooting 74 Saturday to capture Saturday Medalist honors. He was chased all day by Decatur's Ben Cleveland who carded 79 on Saturday. In what felt like a match play final, Ecklund held off Cleveland to win tournament and the 8-11 Weekend Medalist award by three shots.

Boys12-13 Seven juniors competed in this age division. Ethan Lueke of Warranton, MO shot 75 Saturday to capture Saturday Medalist honors. Two other outstanding Saturday rounds were turned in by Alex Rowland of Louisville, KY who fired 77, and Landon Vaughn of McLeansboro, IL who shot 79. Lueke won with 73 Sunday for a total of 148. It was nice to see four players making their PJGT debut. Rendelman, Gregory, Conroy and Martin all impressive young newcomers.

Boys14-15 Small but STRONG field. Carr Vernon went low with 70 on Saturday for Medalist honors. Austin Wheeler made seven birdies Saturday. Four players were within seven shots of the lead going into Sunday. Vernon shot 69 Saturday to capture division and the 12-19 Weekend Medalist award.

Boys16-19 Fourteen players made up very strong fields in this division. Nick Langley of Ballwin, MO was Saturday Medalist with two under par 70. Adam Welch and Scott Hamel were close behind with 71's Saturday. Kevin Bell surged ahead with tournament low 67 on Sunday. But Adam Welch of Chesterfield, MO held Bell off with two-day total of 141, three under par.
