Lakeview Golf Course
Harrisonburg, VA, 22801
October 3-4 2009

Director: Gelenberg

Sunshine, blue skies, great golf - what an amazing weekend! 27 players were treated to beautiful weather and great conditions at Lakeview Golf Course, the home of James Madison University's golf teams.

Evan Greenplate (Boys 8-9) teed it up with Teddy Hoffmann and Adam Gray (Boys 10-11) for the first pairing of the day. Evan took advantage of the conditions and his knowledge of the course from Saturday and fired an 83 on Sunday. Nice job, Evan!

Teddy Hoffmann again showed why he is a force with which to be reckoned, as he hit almost every green and turned it into a Saturday tournament-low score of 75. Teddy cruised to another first-place win, his third of the season. Teddy was also the 8-11 Weekend Medalist. Well done!

Brandon Greenplate followed up his solid round of 80 on Saturday with a 77 on Sunday and cruised to a victory in the Boys 12-13 Division. Chad McCann's 83 on Saturday - his low round of the year (so far!) - earned him second. PJGT newcomers Wilson Simmons and Isaiah Logue both played consistently and rounded out the field in third and fourth respectively. Good job, boys!

How do you reintroduce yourself to the PJGT after a long summer? If you're Ryan Douglass (Boys 14-15), you fire rounds of 78-75 and earn first place, not only your first in this division, but your first PJGT win! Ryan also took home 12-19 Weekend Medalist honors. Chris Kapsak's solid rounds of 80-75 put him solidly in second. On Sunday, Cas Dickerson and Robbie Taylor each shaved 13 strokes off Saturday's round, and Cas' even-par 72 put him into a tie with Christopher Hickman. Two playoff rounds later and Cas earned third. Great job!

In the Boys 16-19 Division, Benjamin Weaver, Dylan Emmett, Davis Whitmer, Chris Leibl, Clay O'Connor and Seth Nagle all improved their scores from Saturday to Sunday. Chris overcame the dreaded ninth hole to earn third, with Clay O'Connor's solid scores taking second. But it was Seth Nagle's Sunday round of 77 that propelled him into the lead and earned him first. Well done!

Delaney Shah (Girls 8-11) took her new putter on Sunday and fired an impressive 81 on the fast greens at Lakeview, while Nicole Feaster (Girls 15-19) shaved eight strokes off Saturday's round. Both players continue to hone their games - and always put a smile on the faces of all players. It's always a pleasure to see you both!

In the Girls 12-14 Division, Gillian Han and Liza Freed both improved their games from last season and handled the longer distances in stride as they took third and second respectively. Alex Wright played solidly on Saturday and shot an 86, then caught fire on Sunday and fired a 77 on her way to her first victory of the year. Well done, girls!

It was great to see so many new faces as well as players from last year. Thanks to everyone for another enjoyable weekend of competition and camaraderie.
