We started as the rain ended and we finished as the rain came down. Timing is EVERYTHING! In between the rain, the PJGT members played some great golf in very windy conditions. It is the WINDY CITY.
Benjamin Cleveland won the Boys 10-11 Division Championship and the Weekend Medalist Award for all the 8-11 divisions with his fine performance of 85-78. Jacob Eklund finished second 82-82 (very consistent) and Noah Lodin came in third 98-89 (great comeback). Jacob Eklund was the Saturday Medalist with his opening round of 82.
Trent Wallace won the Boys 12-13 Division with very consistent rounds of 74-74. Dylan Patscot came in second 76-74, and Brady Franson came in third 72-85. Brady was the Saturday Medalist.
Jeremy Demers and Ethan Sprang tied for Saturday Medalist Honors with opening rounds of 76, but Jeremy came out the winner in the Boys 14-15 Division. Jeremy shot rounds of 76-76 to take first place. Dylan Meyer put on his Sunday Surge with rounds of 80-76 and placed second. Garrett Cox placed third with consistent rounds of 79-79.
In the Boys 16-19 Division, Patrick Cermak shot an opening round one-under-par 71 to claim Saturday Medalist Honors. He followed that up with a 76 on Sunday to finish first in the age group and win the Weekend Medalist Award for all the 12-19 divisions with scores of 71-76=147. Great Weekend Patrick. Elliot Horst finished second with consistent rounds of 77-77. Tucker Guisewite placed third 76-79. Casey Komline ended up fourth with scores of 77-78.
In the Girls 12-14 Division, Harley Dubsky claimed the championship with rounds of 80 and 86. Shawn Rennegarbe finished second with scores of 99-95.
Chelsea Guoynes claimed the Championship in the Girls 15-19 Division with a round of 81 on Saturday and a great round of 76 on Sunday. Her 81 also gave her the Saturday Medalist Honor. Maya Parsons finished second with scores of 83-80. Rachel Welker placed third with her 89-84.
Congratulations to all of the members of the PJGT who participated in the Cog Hill Tournament. It was another great event with great competition, sportsmanship, and excellence of effort on the part of all participants and parents. Thanks again for your continued support of the PJGT.
